Sheryl is running for the Place 6 seat on the Austin City Council. At a well-attended kick off event Sheryl laid out her vision for the City of Austin and her record of leadership as a two-term City Council Member.

She talked about how this campaign will strengthen the bonds of community to move Austin forward.

For almost six years, Sheryl has solved big problems facing our City.  Her passion for public service is evident in the long hours, thoughtful questions and research on tough issues facing our government and decisive leadership that results in strong coalitions and solutions.

Her background as an attorney and a CPA help gives her a unique perspective that is necessary to govern while maintaining the public trust.

Here are some of her accomplishments as the Place 6 City Councilmember:

• Led the initiative to restore and revitalize Waller Creek which will create jobs
• Made sure that Austin Police Department installed video cameras in every vehicle unit
• Supported permanent supportive housing to create affordable places to live for Austin’s most vulnerable

It’s going to take all of us to build a great city for now and the next generation. Sheryl’s message and her vision is clear — together we can strengthen our economy, restore trust in our local government and continue to improve City services.

She knows that a great city has great public schools, safe and reliable transportation systems, clean water, and a healthy economic climate for small and large businesses.

Sheryl has actively involved citizens just like you over the past six years to help Austin tackle tough issues. This campaign is about renewing trust in our government.
